God and mankind are fully reconciled in Jesus Christ by not having their trespasses imputed to them. The completed work of Jesus on the cross offers to everyone who will believe in Him forgiveness and righteousness. This finished work releases to every believer the blessing of Abraham whom God called a friend. The gospel gets better still.

In this, Jesus is with us both on the mountain and in the valley — His presence is constant (Psalm 139, 46, 23). Knowing this: We must always come down from the mountain, for real life and ministry happen in the valley among people in need. We must remember that God’s mighty hand remains underneath — even when faith falters, His everlasting arms uphold us (Deuteronomy 33:27).
